The Democracy Commission is an independent commission into democracy in Ireland seeking to answer questions about how the system in Ireland can be made fairer to represent all sections of Irish society. The Commission is sponsored by tasc, the think tank for action on social change, along with the Belfast-based think-tank Democratic Dialogue, co-sponsors of the Democracy Audit Project. This research is in accordance with the methodology developed by the IDEA Institute of Sweden. It involves a systematic assessment of a country's political life to answer the question: How democratic is the state in practice?(Original source: http://www.tascnet.ie/showlist.asp?ID=269&PUB=0)
