According to the Convention on Environmental Impact Assessment in a Transboundary Context, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine submitted to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Belarus with relevant information regarding the planned construction of reactors number 3 and number 4 at the Khmelnitsky nuclear power plant and construction of a plant for the production of nuclear fuel for VVER-1000 in Kirovograd region.
This international treaty and the Aarhus Convention, to which Belarus is party, provide public awareness and participation in decision-making on such objects.
Note the statement of the need for the meeting regarding the construction of these objects can be sent to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Belarus (220004, Minsk, Vul. Manifold, 10; e-mail: [email protected] ) with notes "Khmelnitsky NPP" and "ZYAT in Ukraine." Deadline for the submission - April 16, 2014. Statement on the necessity of the meeting must be submitted before March 31. More information is available on the website of "NG" and the Ministry of Environment.
