Turkmenistan: OSCE Conference 25th Anniversary of the country's accession to the Aarhus Convention

The OSCE Centre in Ashgabat held a conference on 21 October 2024 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s accession to the Aarhus Convention. It was highlighted that Turkmenistan's accession to the Aarhus Convention was the first Central Asian country to ratify the agreement. The conference highlighted the importance of the Aarhus Convention in promoting environmental governance and sustainable development. The conference also featured discussions on the draft national implementation report and the Aarhus Centre's activities, particularly in sustainable water management. Experiences of organizing public environmental campaigns were also shared.
