Participatory democracy to be examined in light of proposed European constitution

Civil society, citizens' rights, and citizenship & governance will be the topics of the seminar 'The 3 "C"s of participatory democracy', being organized by European Citizens Action Service (ECAS).  The aim of the seminar is to assess how the European Commission and the other Institutions will relate to civil society and to provide on the basis of ECAS research a forum for discussion and recommendations.  The seminar will be held on 13 September 2004 in the Eastman Building of the European Parliament.  Documents preparatory to the seminar can be found on the ECAS website:  http://www.ecas.org.  For more information, please contact Ms. Nathalie Calmejane at [email protected].
