Open Access Day debates role of ICT in implementation of Aarhus Convention

The Open Day is being organized by BlueLink Information Network as part of the Annual Council Meeting of the Association for Progressive Communications (APC).  It will address wide collaboration and debate on the issues concerning accessibility and application of information and communication technologies (ICT) for civil society purposes.

 

BlueLink also plans to focus attention on the important role ICT can play for the nature protection, access to information and civil participation in the decision-making on environmental matters and the role of ICT for the implementation of the Aarhus Convention.  Another highlight of the event will be the World Summit on the Information Society.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

 

The meeting is expected to attract more than 50 representatives from the APC member organizations from 32 countries around the world.  APC is an international network of civil society organizations dedicated to empowering and supporting groups and individuals through the strategic use of ICT, including the Internet.
