A youth organization has filed a lawsuit against the Norwegian government, arguing that it has violated present and future generations constitutional right to live in a healthy environment. In laying down extensive participatory rights for the public and the public concerned, the Aarhus Convention aims at contributing to the protection of the right of every person of present and future generations to live in an environment adequate to his or her well-being (article 1 of the Convention).
