Rent, build up, privatize

Officials headed by mayor of the capital and at the mercy of judges give developers the best places in the parks and other green areas, which, along with the architecture participate in shaping the city. But most importantly, they are destroying recreation areas, habitat of Chisinau, the place where you can relax enjoy the fresh air, where children can run and the elderly can walk.

Developers destroying green areas are willing to pay into the city treasury clearly underestimated the replacement value of the demolished trees. These costs are minuscule compared with the profits from the construction of facilities in the parks: for example, in the construction of the park, Valea Trandafirilor, one of the houses Chisinau Company paid a total of 20 thousand Lei for 18 demolished 50-70- summer trees.

Less than half in Europe

"Causes mayhem in green zones are clearly related to corrupt behaviour and protectionism" - says one of our experts . - The fight against this phenomenon will have an effect when displayed full transparency in the design and construction of facilities, the possibility of public participation in making these decisions.

This is clearly stated in the Aarhus Convention "On Access to Information, Public Participation in Decision-making and Access to Justice in Environmental Matters relating to the environment", ratified by Moldova in 1999.

The situation is aggravated by the virtual absence of relevant information base on the quantitative and qualitative state of the green fund of the city. In Chisinau there is no unified method of inventory, in order to assess the state of green spaces in all categories. The municipality does not pay attention and clearly defined borders parkland, is not respected the ban on alienation and diversion areas within the green zone. At the same time, the Moldovan capital behind European standards for green space per inhabitant. If in Europe the norm is 40 square meters per person, in Chisinau, this figure is less than half."

At this time, General Mayor carries pots of Moldovan land to the president of a neighboring state, powerful PR, planning to lead the Liberal Party and its list in the parliamentary elections, actively through the capital, demolishing monuments, replacing the historic street names, as well as a lot of talks about the trolley and pipes for water supply. And the capital, meanwhile, is degraded and, primarily degraded in its green areas - places where you can still take a deep breath in, contaminated by exhaust gases from the old cars that flooded its streets in recent years, thanks to the initiative of the same Liberal Party.
