The IAIA conference ‘International experience & perspectives in SEA’ will include a session devoted to Public Participation in SEA - Current Situation and Trends. The session's main focus will be how the strategic character of SEA makes public participation desirable. Other challenging trends are the use of in formation technology (IT) and the Internet for the dissemination of information, and early involvement of the public in defining and identifying objectives for the public participation plan and the scope of the assessment.
The IAIA Conference will be hosted by the Regional Environmental Centre for Central and Eastern Europe and the Czech Agricultural University. For information on the Conference, see http://www.iaia.org/Non_Members/Conference/SEA%20Prague/sea_prague_main_page.htm
