Belarus: Persecution of activists opposing nuclear power plants is illegal

The Compliance Committee to the Aarhus Convention confirmed in its findings that Belarus is in violation of the Aarhus Convention with the persecution of activists protesting a nuclear power plant. The decision was endorsed by the Meeting of the Parties to the Aarhus Convention. Belarus was open to accepting recommendations on how to come into compliance with the Convention.
