Astana to host OSCE High-Level Conference on 'Increasing Stability and Security'

ASTANA. June 24. KAZINFORM High-Level Conference on "Increasing Stability and Security: Improving the Environmental Footprint of Energy-Related Activities in the OSCE Region" and the 15th Anniversary of the UNECE's Aarhus Convention - Successes and Lessons Learned, organized by the OSCE Centre in Astana with support of the United Nations Development Programme and the Kazakhstan's Ministry of Environmental Protection will be held on June 25-26 in Radisson Hotel in Astana.

The aim of this conference is to raise public awareness of ongoing reforms in the area of the environmental impact of energy-related activities in Kazakhstan, to make recommendations on the provision of further support by the OSCE Centre to the Government of Kazakhstan with respect to the implementation of Kazakhstan's initiatives and priorities, to support Kazakhstan's initiatives in the indicated areas in the international arena,  to support the  establishment and strengthening of Aarhus Centres, and to increase Kazakhstan's preparedness for participation in the concluding segment of the 21st OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum in Prague.

The conference will bring together government representatives, parliamentarians, legal practitioners, academics, and representatives of the business community and non-governmental organizations, as well as international experts.
